a little info and history about this zine: as our capacity to express love and joy continues to be comprised I find myself forever leaning on the words about love written and spoken by our black feminists, Audre Lorde, bell hooks, and Assata Shakur, I know we can all agree that their words continue to mobilize us to lean on love even when it’s hard.
The font that I used for the main zine cover to spell out the words LOVE and GAZA from yesterday’s zine post is called WTF_CollabType_TTBCN it is the result of the Collaborative Typography Workshop organized by W Type Foundry within the framework of Type Thursday Barcelona's May 2021 event. I was thrilled to join in solidarity 90 participants from different parts of the world, to collaboratively design this typeface! It is not a perfect typeface given its analog design methodology. It is an experimental typeface, used best for short texts or headlines.
